First off - This isn't my proper review - and I will be changing this and updating it once I've actually done real business with this store. I do however want to express how disappointed I was today when visiting the shop. I recently bought a new (used) car and want to upgrade the speakers, maybe throw an amp in there too. I've been out of the car audio game for so long, I don't know what brands are the best these days, or what their price points are. I spent a week browsing online at options for my car, watching videos, online forums chatting and it's all pretty straightforward. However, I figure this time I'm going to have a shop do the work for me as I don't have a garage anymore I can do this work in. Plus, truth be told - the reviews here made me decide this could be the shop for me. I cleared an hour of time, which I figured would be good to go in, chat with someone about what I want and get the ball rolling. Here's the first big problem (I guess) : It's Sunday. Apparently if you want to speak with someone who can actually help, you need to visit on a weekday. I told the fellow at the counter I bought a XYZ model car, the stock speakers suck and I'd like to upgrade them to something better. My way of thinking was that - I will let the shop tell me about different options. What speakers are available, what might sound best in my car, what sort of amp for what kind of music I listen to. I mean that's what I want - is an enthusiast to let me know what's maybe in my budget, and what I can expect. Instead, I was asked if I know the speakers I want because they will have to order them - but the fellow says he doesn't know anything about speakers, and he doesn't have the ability to order any parts for me and I'll need to speak to the owner/manager since he will know. He was nice enough about it - I was just really, really caught off guard by this though. I'm standing in this shop surrounded by gear - and that's it? I have to come back another day when someone who knows about speakers will be able to help me? It just left such a sour vibe especially since I'd cleared that time just to try and get there today when I figured it might not be busy. I guess what I'm saying is - maybe don't go on a Sunday if you need any help or information on upgrading your stereo. As is, I'd like to go back, but worried now if I go back, maybe in the evening on a weekday I'll be told I need to show up in the afternoon or something. Not all is lost though - I'll give them another try.
